Chiang Kai Shek : Introduction

Chiang Kai Shek : Introduction

Chiang Kai-shek is known by many as one of the most brilliant leaders and figureheads of the continent of Asia in the twentieth century, but beyond the gleaning of his accomplishments over certain courses of Asian history classes that we may or may not have taken up in our school days, we know very little about the man who had held such power and influence over Taiwan and the Republic of China throughout a good bit of the last century. We know about his accomplishments, and we know of the effects of his actions. We know that he is in many ways a successful man in the world of politics and the military arena.

There is no doubt that in terms of history, Chiang Kai-shek holds a very important place in the general consciousness of people. But very few people have tried to attempt (even just a little bit) to get into the mind of the man himself, the man who had done so much in the attempt to unify China and resist the control of communism. While his motivations and psychological impulses may never be made completely clear, the greatness of this man must be commended in more ways than just simply acknowledging him as a great Chinese leader. This site is dedicated to learning more about the man, and not the figurehead; and we will learn the only ways we can.
